Protocol in development
Music in Care for Ukraine
A separate project developing a protocol for the everyday use of music, voice and gentle rhythm in Ukrainian paediatric palliative care.
How the projects connect
Music in Care for Ukraine is a separate protocol development project. Rhythms of Life has its own cultural history and could join as a partner; OTUT may coordinate development. The separate Music as Care research is not this protocol.
What is happening now
An evidence-informed, safe procedure is being developed for non-specialist carers working with children with serious illness. House of Butterflies in Chernivtsi is a possible first pilot site. No agreement has been signed and no pilot has taken place.
Clear boundaries
The protocol is still being developed. It is not clinical music therapy, an approved standard or an operating programme. Clinical and legal review, staff competencies, consent and safeguards remain to be established.
Collaborate
We invite care professionals and potential partners to explore roles, safeguards and the feasibility of a gentle pilot together.
